  • Liz Cohen LSW.

I’m a trauma-informed therapist trained in EMDR and somatic approaches who works with adults navigating trauma, loss, difficult relationships, overwhelming life experiences, anxiety, panic, grief, and shame. In a warm, non-judgmental, safe space, we’ll work together to help you access greater ease, connection, and joy.

    If you’ve found yourself wondering:

    What’s happening to me?

    What’s wrong with me?

Why does this keep happening to me?

Will I always feel this way?

Or you’ve found yourself saying something like: I want to feel happy, free, calm – but I can’t seem to figure out how.

    I’m glad you’re here.

Because underneath the confusion, we all make sense.

I am here to help you make sense of what’s happening to you – and discover new ways of relating to yourself and others, safely process difficult experiences, and access more ease, confidence, connection, and joy.

My work integrates psychodynamic and attachment-based therapy with experiential approaches including EMDR, somatic therapy, mindfulness, and nervous-system regulation. If that sounds like gobbledy-gook, it means we’ll work together to understand your experiences while also helping your mind and body experience meaningful healing and change.

My approach is warm, non-judgmental, and trauma-informed. Clients often tell me they feel deeply seen, understood, and safe in our work together. They describe me as both “soft and strong” – someone who can make space for difficult emotions at your pace, while also helping you connect the dots and build practical skills.

Before becoming a therapist, I spent over a decade working in the technology industry and as a career coach. My own experience with anxiety, panic attacks, and trauma led me to therapy, and ultimately to change careers. Since then, I have worked with survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, childhood abuse, and other forms of trauma, helping clients integrate experiences that once felt impossible to navigate alone.

You do not have to have everything figured out before reaching out. I’d be honored to walk alongside you as you move toward greater healing, connection, and self-trust.

P.S. In case you’re curious about me personally, I use she/they pronouns, come from a mixed ethnic and religious background, am a wife and proud mom of four babies who never walked the earth – and, importantly, Atticus the dog. I wholeheartedly welcome all parts of your identity – gender, racial, ethnic, religious/spiritual, sexual, and other – into our work together.
